Date and Time: Friday 2nd October 2015 - 10.30am registration and coffee - 2.30pm with a light lunch

 

Topics to be covered to include:

  • How to assess crop maturity and harvest date for optimal forage use.

  • Discuss benefits, practicalilties and costs of under - sowing maize and catch crops.

  • Discuss the Cross Compliance implications of maize growing,

  • Discuss the different maize varieties including early harvest.

  • Practical advice for managing the soil run - off and erosion risks of growing maize.

  • How to restore soil structure and reduce compaction.

 

- Light lunch is included.
- BASIS & NRoSO CPD points applied for.

 

This workshop will be "in the field" so please wear suitable clothing and footware.
